Isaiah 54:17 King James Version

17 No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is of me, saith the Lord.

Lastly, this is the heritage of the servants of the Lord and their righteousness of the Lord. Look, I can't expect Isaiah 54:17 to operate in my life if I am being unrighteous. Even if I am a child of God, I can lose the right to the inheritance of Isaiah 54:17 if I am being unrighteous. This makes sense to expect this from a Holy God. How can I be doing dirt and then expect to walk in Isaiah 54:17? It doesn't work that way. Every weapon against me WILL prosper if I am out of the will of God. If it doesn't, its only because of God's mercy and grace and not because of Isaiah 54:17. Also my idea of righteousness could be different from Gods idea of righteousness. This is why scripture said their righteousness is of God and not of yourself.
